Jessamine

Originating in the Ohio college town of Galion, drone-rock outfit Jessamine later shifted base to Seattle, where the 1994 Sub Pop single "Your Head Is So Small..." first drew notice. After signing with Kranky, vocalist/guitarist Rex Ritter, bassist/vocalist Dawn Smithson, keyboardist Andy Brown and drummer Michael Faeth delivered their self-titled debut in 1995; The Long Arm of Coincidence arrived the following year. A Pox on You, their collaboration with Spectrum, came next, along with the singles collection Another Fictionalized History, before third studio LP Don't Stay Too Long surfaced in 1998. Jessamine disbanded shortly after releasing Living Sound, an archival live recording made with Experimental Audio Research ringleader Sonic Boom.
