Biography
Since the closing years of the 1970s, Jimmy Mazzy has drawn crowds as a lively performer on the traditional jazz scene, where his banjo playing and spirited singing have earned him steady appreciation. Operating independently throughout this period, he has taken the stage at numerous traditional jazz events and collaborated with an extensive array of ensembles, among them the Yankee Rhythm Kings, the Magnolia Jazz Five, the Back Bay Ramblers, and Boston's Paramount Jazz Band. His discography encompasses releases on the small OZ and TJ imprints as well as diverse projects on Stomp Off, one of which features an uncommon duo recording alongside tuba specialist Eli Newberger.
