Her initial appearance came via a TV Tupi program, leading to nightclub performances across Rio. Nascente marked her debut LP in 1979, after which she produced nearly an album annually. Written specifically for her, the track "Nos Bailes da Vida" by Milton Nascimento and Fernando Brant appeared on the 1981 release Chama. She penned "Decisão," which served as the theme for the soap opera Brilhante, while "Momentos" accompanied Coração Alado. Additional successes included "Recado (Meu Namorado)" by Renato Teixeira, along with "Quarto de Hotel" and "Uma Canção de Amor" by Gonzaguinha. Her appeal extended strongly to audiences in Argentina and Portugal, prompting recordings of more commercial romantic tracks such as "Amanhã Talvez" and "Amor Bandido," both composed by Sullivan and Massadas. In 1998, she devoted the full album Intimidad to bolero material.
