John Roberts & Tony Barrand

Hailing from England, the vocalists Roberts and Barrand once made their home in Vermont. During the 1970s the pair began performing traditional English folk songs in close harmony, an approach that, while occasionally encountered, has never been common in that repertoire. Across the ensuing decades they have issued numerous albums both under their own names and in collaboration with the ensemble Nowell Sing We Clear.
