Jorkan

Jorkan, a Panamanian rapper and singer born Jorge Denilson Quijada Morris in 2002, merges hip-hop, trap, reggaeton, and dancehall into his music while centering his frequently explicit lyrics on the extravagant aspects of ghetto existence in Caribbean fashion. Early exposure to U.S. rappers including 50 Cent, Biggie, and Drake shaped his approach, an influence evident throughout his debut full-length album Norte Time. Issued initially in 2020 and subsequently handled by Warner Music Latina, the project was succeeded the following year by Now or Never. Also in 2021 Jorkan scored his most successful track so far by guesting on BCA’s “Top Model,” a cut that likewise included T.O.T. He maintained ties with fellow Panamanian acts such as Danny Yash, Eiby, Verzatyl, El Tachi, and Anyuri, yet beginning in 2022 he pursued wider global reach through partnerships with prominent urbano producers K4G, Dímelo Flow, and Cerebro. In tandem with ongoing single releases, he issued the EPs 6 Capítulos in 2022, Sal Si Puedes in 2023, and Young Legend in 2024.
