Biography
Kathie Lee Gifford, born in Paris, logged two decades of work on game shows and in nightclub performances prior to spending fifteen years as co-host of Live with Regis & Kathie Lee, among the most enduring daytime talk programs in television. While on that series she made guest appearances in various TV specials and authored titles including the holiday collection Christmas with Kathie Lee along with her memoir I Can't Believe I Said That! She stepped away from Live with Regis & Kathie Lee during summer 2000, immediately ahead of issuing her debut pop album Heart of a Woman. Throughout the 2000s Gifford kept issuing recordings focused on lullabies, children's material, and praise & worship songs. She joined the roster of co-hosts for The Today Show in 2008. Early the following year she revisited vocal pop via the album My Way Home; a few months afterward came Everyone Has a Story, a collection of songs she composed with David Friedman and that Broadway performers delivered. In September 2017 the Provident imprint New Haven put out The Little Giant, a musical adaptation of David and Goliath that Gifford co-wrote.
