In her adolescent years during the dawn of the 1980s, the urban soul performer Stacy Lattisaw achieved multiple Top 40 placements on the R&B charts, including three tracks that reached the pop audience: "Let Me Be Your Angel," "Love on a Two Way Street," and "Miracles." Her debut release came via Cotillion Records in 1979 when she was just 12, guided by producer Van McCoy. Stardom arrived only after her collaboration with Narada Michael Walden, the ex-drummer for the Mahavishnu Orchestra who was launching his own production work. Walden helmed five successful albums for her from 1981 through 1986. Though she kept issuing material through the remainder of the decade and joined Motown in 1986, her popularity waned gradually. Retirement from the industry followed in the early 1990s as she chose to focus on her family instead.
