Biography
Kristin Andreassen blends folk and country traditions in her solo performances while also joining the old-timey string band Uncle Earl and the self-described "folk noir" trio Sometymes Why for tours and shows. A professional clogger and dance instructor as well, this Nashville-based polymath grew up in Oregon and put out her first solo album, Kiss Me Hello, in 2007. That year she captured the grand prize at the John Lennon Song Contest with the single "Crayola Doesn't Make a Color for Your Eyes." Her second solo album, Gondolier, arrived in 2015. Andreassen has shared stages with Chris Eldridge and Noam Pikelny of Punch Brothers, Lucius, Jeffrey Lewis, Dawn Landes, Jefferson Hamer, Mipso, and members of Field Report and Cuddle Magic, while her songs have turned up in film and television projects.
