Lil Suzy

Born Suzanne Casale on March 1, 1979, in Brooklyn, freestyle diva Lil Suzy first drew notice as a toddler while singing on Manhattan Beach. By age five she had performed onstage at the legendary Studio 54, and within months she was a regular presence on the New York City club scene. At eight she competed on the nationally syndicated talent showcase Star Search, then issued her debut album, Love Can't Wait, in 1991. Its opening single, “Take Me in Your Arms,” turned into a major club success, earning her Billboard’s Best New Dance Artist honor the following year. After the 1994 release of Back to Dance she launched Empress Records, becoming, at seventeen, the youngest president of a record label in the United States; the imprint’s inaugural project, Life Goes On, reached stores in 1995. Paradise arrived two years afterward, followed in 1999 by Lil Suzy: The Megamix.
