Judy Torres

Judy Torres embodies determination as one of the most cherished and lasting voices in dance-pop. Gifted with striking good looks, a powerful and flexible voice, and the mental resolve needed to realize her ambitions, she has surmounted obstacles that sidelined many of her eighties-era peers. While numerous dance artists from that period slipped into obscurity, Torres broadened her ambitions to sustain a thriving music career alongside work in musical theatre and a featured program on New York’s highly regarded radio station, WKTU.

She entered the industry at seventeen, making an immediate impact with the freestyle classic No Reason to Cry. The album Love Story secured her standing as a prominent figure in dance and freestyle circles. The follow-up My Soul revealed further vocal development and sharper musical focus. Love You for All Seasons carried Torres into the mainstream before a receptive yet limited audience. She is presently developing a new project that extends her professional reach while she remains a familiar presence on the club performing circuit.
