Biography
Elizabeth Horsman came into the world on 26 November 1975 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Recognition arrived for the singer-songwriter once her debut single, the radio-friendly ‘Heavy High’, reached listeners. Its parent album, also titled Heavy High, appeared in April 1999 and enjoyed moderate sales, though the set fell short of expectations given its abundance of polished pop material. Reviewers noted parallels with Aimee Mann’s Whatever as well as the work of then-contemporary artists KT Tunstall and Natalie Imbruglia. After severing ties with Food, Horsman issued her next record, Roaming, through her own imprint in July 2002. She is married to acclaimed pop producer Mike Spencer, whose credits include Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue and Beverley Knight. These days Horsman focuses chiefly on writing for other performers, among them Natasha Bedingfield, Appleton and The The, along with contributions to numerous film and television soundtracks. She also holds qualifications as a psychotherapist.
