Maggie Antone demonstrated her country music abilities early on through compelling covers posted first across social platforms and later compiled on her opening album, Interpretations. The follow-up Rhinestoned confirmed equal skill at composing material for the style, displayed in sharp, memorable tracks including “Johnny Moonshine” and “Suburban Outlaw.”

A Richmond, Virginia native born in 2002, she displayed a striking vocal presence while still young; this natural gift encouraged her parents to back her goals by arranging vocal training and roles in school productions. At age 16 she began creating original songs and soon posted them online alongside covers that highlighted her vocal range. In 2021 a video version of Tyler Childers’ “Lady May” spread widely; she next offered a reading of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and John Denver’s “Blow Up Your TV [Spanish Pipe Dream].” Those recordings anchored her 2022 debut release, Interpretations, which also featured covers of Beyoncé’s “Daddy Lessons” and blink-182’s “Adam’s Song.”

Antone’s dual strengths as singer and writer led to guest spots on recordings by 49 Winchester and Willow Avalon. She joined forces with Natalie Hemby of the Highwomen, Trent Dabbs of Kacey Musgraves, and Aaron Raitiere of Lady Gaga to create 2024’s Rhinestoned, her initial collection of original songs. Numbers such as “Johnny Moonshine,” “High Standards,” and “Mess with Texas” blended clever wordplay with polished melodies carried by her relaxed drawl. That year she strengthened her stage presence while touring with Red Clay Strays and Trampled by Turtles, among others, and appeared at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
