Biography
Forming the British electronica duo Magnetophone are Matt Saunders and John Hanson, whose eclectic sound draws equal influence from pop music, electronic innovators such as Morton Subotnick, modern acts like Autechre, and the Krautrock movement. Releases on independent imprints including Earworm and Static Caravan paved the way for a deal with 4AD, resulting in the fall 2000 arrival of their debut album I Guess Sometimes I Need to be Reminded of How Much You Love Me.
