Biography
Mary Cutrufello, a singer and guitarist now based in Houston, spent her Connecticut childhood idolizing Bruce Springsteen; after completing a Yale degree in American history she settled in Texas and, over the ensuing period, cultivated an ardent local audience through steady club work. She appeared on Jimmie Dale Gilmore’s 1996 release Braver Newer World and joined its tour, then issued her own debut album Who to Love and When to Leave independently that year, securing a Mercury contract that produced the 1998 album When the Night Is Through.
