Biography
Since 1987, the extreme noise artist Masonna, whose real name is Maso Yamazaki, has operated at the leading edge of Japan’s underground scene. By combining noise textures with vocal elements, Masonna issued more than ten recordings before the close of the 1990s, among them Super Compact Disc and Ejaculation Generator for the Japanese imprint Alchemy as well as Frequency LSD for Canada’s Alien8 Recordings. In addition, he created the project Christine 23 Onna alongside Fusao, who belongs to Angel in Heavy Syrup. The name Masonna itself stands as the acronym Mademoiselle Anne Sanglante Ou Notre Nymphomanie Aureole.
