Blending futuristic experimental productions with rapid multilingual rhymes, Kenyan-Ugandan rapper MC Yallah has forged an intense, shape-shifting style. She has remained active since the late '90s, first establishing herself as a fixture in East Africa's hip-hop community before achieving wider recognition through her connection to Kampala's Nyege Nyege Tapes and subsequent European live appearances. Her first album, Kubali, recorded with French producer Debmaster, surfaced in 2019, while the follow-up Yallah Beibe appeared in 2023.

Born Yallah Gaudencia Mbidde in Kenya and raised in Uganda, where she still resides, she absorbed American hip-hop during her youth and began rapping professionally toward the end of the '90s. Early visibility came from hosting Kampala's Newz Beat program, whose presenters deliver the news in rhyme. Over time she honed a dense, shifting approach that fuses empowering themes with a mix of Luganda, Luo, Kiswahili, and English. After sporadic single releases spanning more than ten years, she became one of the first artists signed to Nyege Nyege Tapes and its Hakuna Kulala sub-label. Regular studio and stage work with Debmaster yielded the 2018 single "Ndi Mukazi" and the full-length Kubali the following year. A frequent participant in the annual Nyege Nyege Festival, she has also appeared at Unsound and CTM.

In 2020 she issued the EP Mama Waliwamanyii alongside experimental techno producer Eomac. Guest spots followed on projects by Scotch Rolex and DJ Die Soon, and she contributed to Debmaster's remix of Mdou Moctar's "Tala Tannam." Another 2020 release, "Olympiaaku," paired her with singeli producer Bamba Pana and Japanese taiko ensemble Kodo. Her second album, Yallah Beibe, arrived in 2023, featuring production from Debmaster, Scotch Rolex, and Chrisman plus guest turns by Ratigan Era and Duma's Lord Spikeheart.
