Biography
MD.45 emerged as a short-lived side project pairing Megadeth's Dave Mustaine with Fear's Lee Ving in an unexpected collaboration. After Megadeth finished promoting Youthanasia, Mustaine, left with spare time and leftover material, chose to develop new songs alongside Ving. He brought in then-Alice Cooper drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, who joined Megadeth shortly afterward, along with Shrine bassist Kelly Lemieux. The project's title came from flipping the pair's initials, with MD standing for Mustaine and 45 representing Ving because VL equals 45 in Roman numerals. In 1996 the group issued its only album, the eleven-song The Craving.
