Biography
Originating from Liverpool, the five-piece R&B vocal harmony outfit MiC LOWRY assembled in 2011 under the guidance of the Positive Impact music development company. Delleile Ankrah, Akia Jones, Kaine Ofoeme, Ben Sharples, and Michael Welch, all of whom grew up within a mile of one another, had attended Calderstones School, once attended by John Lennon. Recognition arrived in 2014 with the MOBO Unsung Award, after which the group quickly earned a performance slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury. Their first EP, The Show, appeared in 2015, followed in 2016 by a nomination for Liverpool’s GIT award. That year also brought an invitation to open for Justin Bieber across 37 dates in 22 cities on the European leg of his Purpose tour, while the single “Oh Lord” was issued.
