Biography
Monica Mancini, offspring of the famed composer Henry Mancini, stepped into professional singing at age 14 and later performed on tour supported by the orchestra her late father had led. Her first album, issued under her own name, appeared in 1998, while the follow-up Dreams of Johnny Mercer arrived in 2000. Because much of her material reflected classic film scores, she curated a 2002 collection of movie-theme covers titled Cinema Paradiso that spotlighted her personal favorites.
