Biography
Born on February 19, 1983, in Hioki, Kagoshima, Japanese singer, actress, and model Mika Nakashima supplied the vocals for the lead character of the popular manga-derived film Nana across its original and follow-up installments as well as the associated soundtracks. She had already scored major domestic success with two hit albums prior to winning the film’s central part. The ensuing campaign, which featured the full-length album Nana Starring Mika Nakashima and multiple hit singles, raised her profile still further and directly prompted the 2006 sequel Nana 2.
