Biography
Jesusomitodun Oladimeji Peters, performing under the name Oba Reengy, is a Yoruban rapper and singer born in Nigeria. Raised in the Ekiti region, he trained in church music at the Redeemed Christian Bible College before issuing his first recordings around 2013. He later established himself in Lagos, where he produces tracks that fuse Afrobeat and hip-hop to deliver spiritual, uplifting messages intended to inspire audiences. Years of consistent singles, live shows, and partnerships with like-minded creators such as Kunle Ajayi, Mike Abdul, Clinton Flames, Tobi Toun, Lekan Salamii, and additional colleagues helped him gain prominence inside the Nigerian Christian music landscape. His output includes several EPs, among them two volumes of the Sounds of Life series recorded with Rehmahz, as well as the albums Afrogospel Compilation (2021) and Aware (2022).
