Biography
Among Cape Verde's most widely embraced ensembles, Os Tubaroes (the Sharks) draw strong followings from island residents and from large expatriate populations based in Portugal and New England alike. The seven-piece outfit presents both buoyant coladeira dances and longstanding morna pieces that confront the difficulties created by Cape Verde's far-flung diaspora. Their release Bote, Broce, e Linha surpassed 10,000 copies in sales.
