Biography
Formed from alumni of prominent groups including Special Beat, the Specials, Madness, Galliano, Steel Pulse, and Pop Will Eat Itself, Pama International presented themselves as a ‘dub fuelled ska rocksteady & reggae' ensemble. Their output appeared via the independently run Jamdown imprint, with performances across various events including Glastonbury over time. Marking their debut full-length effort for American audiences, Float Like A Butterfly arrived in 2005, coinciding with the UK issuance of the acclaimed EP Dub Store Special. Becoming the initial fresh signing to the historic Trojan label, renowned for reggae in its many forms, Pama International delivered Trojan Sessions in August 2006. That album featured the group’s configuration of Finny handling vocals, Sean Flowerdew on keyboards, Lynval Golding on guitar, Kirk Service on bass, Fuzz Townshend on drums, Simon Wilcox on trumpet, Marli on guitars, along with Nick Manasseh providing ‘dub stylings.' Love Filled Dub Band followed as their 2008 offering.
