Biography
Paul Jackson, Jr., a Los Angeles-based session guitarist, stood out as one of the most active contributors to R&B throughout the seventies and eighties. Before landing a solo contract with Atlantic in 1986, he recorded with the Temptations, Gerald Alston, Bobby Womack, Luther Vandross, Patrice Rushen, Ramsey Lewis, Nancy Wilson, the Pointer Sisters, Howard Hewett, Dennis Edwards, and Jeffrey Osborne, among many others. As a lead artist, however, he enjoyed far less recognition, with neither his 1988 album I Came To Play nor the 1990 release Out of the Shadows registering any notable impact.
