People Get Ready

Steven Reker and Luke Fasano, the latter known from Yeasayer, launched People Get Ready in 2009. The duo set out to fuse contemporary dance performance with indie rock. From their New York City base, they first developed their sound through live shows built around songs Reker had composed while touring as David Byrne’s guitarist. The next year Reker added Jen Goma and James Rickman, expanding the project to a quartet. After further well-received appearances at the Kitchen in New York, the group issued a self-titled EP and its companion remix EP, Rusty Greg Jherek Luke, through Quite Scientific. Their full-length debut, People Get Ready, followed a year later on Brassland.
