His numerous ensemble compositions, among them works by Zummo Labs and the Environmental Combo, develop from original melodies and melodic fragments that foster interactive conditions for performers. Radical Filtering received its premiere at the BAM Next Wave Festival, Semiotic Handgun debuted at Lincoln Center Out-Of-Doors, and Fast Dream was presented at the Boston Opera House. Numerous commissions and grants followed. He supplied music for Trisha Brown’s dance pieces Newark and Lateral Pass plus additional dance and theater productions.
