Biography
Phantom Ghost emerged as an atmospheric collaboration steeped in cinematic fascination, uniting Dirk Von Lowtzow—aka Phantom and a former member of Tocotronic—with Thies Mynther, known as Ghost from his time in Stella and Superpunk. The German pair draws inspiration from lingering traces of earlier eras and their lingering impact on today, channeling those influences into electronic arrangements enriched by acoustic elements such as pianos and strings. Their debut arrived as a self-titled album issued by Ladomat 2000 during August 2001. Built around the sweeping, introspective vocal track “Perfect Lovers,” that album launch gained additional momentum through a two-part EP positioning the song on its A-side. To Damascus appeared in late 2003.
