Biography
In the late 1960s the unremarkable British band Plastic Penny climbed into the U.K. Top Ten in the early months of 1968 with the single “Everything I Am,” a labored ballad augmented by strings that was never among the group’s strongest numbers. Most of their output blended psychedelic pop with the first stirrings of prog-rock, occasionally suggesting the Who while at other times drifting toward more fey story-songs. Guitarist Mick Grabham subsequently spent several years in the 1970s as a member of Procol Harum.
