Biography
After entering a 1932 local troubadours contest, Puerto Rican singer Ramito promptly obtained a contract that launched his professional career. He interpreted traditional Latin tunes on a regional station for some time before taking the microphone for his own program, La Hora del Volante, and reached his greatest prominence through an appearance on New York’s WHOM show La Montaña Canta. Flor Morales Ramos, also known as “El Cantor de la Montaña,” died in 1990, leaving behind an important legacy for the Puerto Rican culture.
