An American comedian, singer, and satirist, Randy Rainbow first attracted widespread attention during the early 2010s through a series of musical parodies and incisive, politically astute videos that mimicked interviews with well-known personalities. Those clips achieved broad visibility amid the 2016 presidential race and its aftermath, culminating in a 2019 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for The Randy Rainbow Show. His first full-length studio album, A Little Brains, A Little Talent, appeared in 2021.

Raised in Long Island, New York, and Plantation, Florida, Rainbow relocated to New York City while still in his early twenties, intent on establishing himself in theater. There he began posting blog entries and short comedic videos online. The Randy Rainbow Bloggity BLAHg-BLAHg, conceived as a record of everyday experiences in the city, drew growing notice after he uploaded the 2010 clip Randy Rainbow Is Dating Mel Gibson. That piece belonged to a run of sketches in which he repurposed recorded celebrity remarks into fabricated phone conversations; once it circulated widely, additional installments followed, including inventive musical-number send-ups and further mock calls that featured figures ranging from Dr. Laura to Kanye West.

By 2016 his material had shifted toward political satire, as the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House supplied abundant material for lampooning both the campaign and the administration. One such number, marking the initial presidential debate, accumulated more than 20 million views within forty-eight hours. Recognized as a prominent online presence, Rainbow became a regular presence across various media platforms, and his widely followed YouTube series The Randy Rainbow Show received the aforementioned Emmy nomination in 2019. Two years later the album A Little Brains, A Little Talent collected studio renderings of many of his best-known online pieces together with a pair of newly written tracks.
