Biography
Emerging from the storied C-86 movement across the U.K., the Razorcuts established themselves among the decade’s most impactful indie-pop acts. Tim Vass and Gregory Webster assembled the group in Luton, England, during 1985 and issued early singles through the Subway Organization and Flying Nun imprints. After inking a deal with Creation, they delivered their debut full-length, Storyteller, in 1988. The follow-up, World Keeps Turning, arrived the next year, yet the partnership dissolved shortly thereafter. Vass and Webster subsequently lent their talents to separate projects such as Saturn V, the Carousel, Forever People, and Sportique. Matinee compiled the duo’s strongest material on the 2002 anthology R is for...Razorcuts.
