Republic

Established during 1990, the Hungarian ensemble Republic took their name in homage to the era, performing a style of rock and pop infused with folk elements and drawing influence from iconic Magyar acts including Hobo Blues Band along with Locomotiv GT. The group's lineup, consisting of Bódi László on vocals, Patai Tamás handling guitar, Tóth Zoltán on guitars, Boros Csaba playing bass, and Nagy László at the drums, issued their record Fényes Utakon toward the end of 2007. Achieving notable success within Hungary, this release climbed into the upper reaches of the domestic album rankings.
