Reverence came together in 1998 as a French industrial and experimental black metal outfit. Their opening demo, Winds of North, appeared in 2001, with the follow-up Wenn die Nacht Kommt arriving two years later. A string of split releases ensued, beginning with Blut Aus Nord on 2003’s Decorporation and continuing with Wolok and Sof on 2004’s Anti-Life Terror. After inking a contract with the French extreme metal imprint Dead Sun, the group issued its first full-length effort, Industrial Metal Concept, in 2005. Another collaborative outing, the 2007 Panik Terror Music collection Dissociated Human Junction, paired them with Bloodoline, Blut Aus Nord, and Karras. The band’s profile rose when Avantgarde Music took them on, resulting in the same year’s Chamber of Divine Elaboration, recorded by the trio of I. Luciferia on vocals and guitar, bassist Aym, and drummer Vincent Roubiere.
