Biography
Emerging from the remnants of Oversoul Seven, the hip-hop project assembled by guitarist/programmer Rick Torres, bassist/programmer Kiran Shahani, and keyboardist/programmer Ramin Sakurai, came the electronic pop/trip-hop outfit Supreme Beings of Leisure. During demo work the three principals brought in their acquaintance, singer/songwriter Geri Soriano-Lightwood, to lend her voice. Now operating under the Supreme Beings of Leisure banner, the ensemble placed several early recordings on Moonshine Records compilations ahead of the self-titled debut album’s arrival in early 2000 on the Palm Pictures imprint. Divine Operating System appeared in 2002 and was promoted through an extensive global tour. After a five-year hiatus the band resurfaced with its third album, 11i.
