Bitter:Sweet

In Los Angeles the baroque trip-hop duo Bitter:Sweet came together around vocalist Shana Halligan and producer Kiran Shahani, the latter a founding member of Supreme Beings of Leisure. Although the pair lived only a single block apart and had already worked inside the same studio, they first connected through an online advertisement. Bitter:Sweet issued their debut album, The Mating Game, on the Quango label in April 2006. Drama arrived in mid-2008 and included the track “The Bomb,” which served as the theme for the television series Lipstick Jungle. Shahani’s additional work encompasses film and television scores as well as remixes for artists such as Marilyn Manson, while Halligan has placed numerous compositions in television and film and has performed on programs including Boston Legal.
