Biography

Tosca emerged from the creative alliance of Richard Dorfmeister, a member of the trip-hop production duo Kruder & Dorfmeister, and producer Rupert Huber. On K&D's G-Stone imprint the pair issued five richly textured studio albums from 1997 through 2009—Opera, Dehli9, and No Hassle among them—each except the last incorporating vocal collaborations, together with multiple remix anthologies. Vocals reappeared on their 2013 release Odeon, which also introduced the duo to the !K7 roster. Remaining with that label for 2014's Outta Here, they pivoted sharply away from their established downtempo approach toward a sparkling strain of neo-disco. With 2017's Going Going Going, Tosca circled back to earlier terrain, presenting an unpredictable collection of house, ambient, and funk-inflected instrumentals.
