Richard Bone helped establish the electronic music community in N.Y.C. at its outset. He launched his professional path by scoring off-Broadway productions with self-built processors and later collaborated with neo-legendaries Lenny Kaye and Reeves Gabrels. Joining Shox Lumania in 1980, he soon struck out alone and issued multiple singles through Chrysalis Records. Bone also handled production duties on singles for Rubber Rodeo, created original scores for award-winning cable and broadcast television programs, and participated in the music-video realizations of his own experimental Sony releases during the early '80s. His atmospheric, ambient output persisted through the '90s and reached a high point with the 1999 album Coxa and its jazzy tone. Numerous recordings appeared on his self-operated Quirkworks imprint.
