Biography
Although his abilities ultimately advanced his profile, Atlanta rapper Rico Richie first encountered figures in the music industry through a full-ride scholarship at Georgia Tech, where he competed in Division 1 college football. Born Reuben Houston, the well-known ex-college athlete joined forces with Atlanta DJ crew Street Republicans on the 2013 mixtape From the Ashes. DJ X-Rated and DJ Outta Space hosted his 2014 Guilty by Association, after which he reached a wider audience in 2015 once DJ Drama featured the Richie single “Poppin” on Drama’s own mixtape Quality Street Music 2.
