Biography
At the Paris Conservatoire, Boutry completed his training under Boulanger before joining the faculty to instruct students in harmony. The cantata On ne badine pas avec l'amour brought him the Prix de Rome in 1954. Shaped by the examples of Debussy and Ravel, his compositions stand out for their lyrical, expressive lines.
