Biography

Formed as a duo steeped in the sonic approach of Pavement, Sammy joined guitarist Luke Wood with guitarist and vocalist Jesse Hartman. The project issued a total of three albums before ending operations. Both Debut Album in 1994 and Kings of the Island Empire in 1995 appeared on Smells Like Records, the label operated by Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, and both included drummer Tony Maxwell. Geffen released the final album, Tales of Great Neck Glory, in 1996, only months before the partnership dissolved.
