Seamus Fogarty weaves poetic and experimental material that merges folk-rock with more rustic strains of traditional folk, incorporating electronic touches such as synthesizers and assorted sound effects. His debut full-length, God Damn You Mountain, appeared in 2012. Although he continued working with guitar and banjo, subsequent albums, among them A Bag of Eyes in 2020, placed greater emphasis on synths, samples, and field recordings.

Born in County Mayo, Ireland, the London-based artist began circulating early tour CD-Rs around 2010, among them the Home Game EP and Haarfest EP. His first official album, the self-recorded God Damn You Mountain, came out on the U.K. label Fence Records in 2012 and included vocal contributions from Dorota Konczewska and Emma Smith. An expanded version followed in 2013 on Lost Map Records. Among other shorter releases, the 2014 EP Computer Graph received a modest revision and reappeared as Ducks and Drakes on Lost Map in 2015.

Impressed by those initial recordings, Domino offered Fogarty a deal for his second album, The Curious Hand, released in 2017 and co-produced by Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Sam Amidon). The EP The Old Suit arrived the next year. Once more featuring Emma Smith along with Abrahams and singer/songwriter Meilyr Jones among its contributors, the full-length A Bag of Eyes was issued by Domino in November 2020.
