Biography
Born Kwon Min-sik in Seoul during 1994, Sik-K spent part of his teenage years in Vancouver, British Columbia, then returned to South Korea intent on building a music career. After competing on the fourth season of the reality series Show Me the Money in 2015, the same year he began issuing his own tracks, the rapper gradually built an audience. Early influences from Western figures such as Drake and Wiz Khalifa were tempered by the distinctive, unhurried production supplied by GroovyRoom on his 2018 mixtape TRAPART.
His first extended release, the 2016 EP FLIP, appeared on the OTC imprint before he moved to H1ghr Music. Subsequent projects included the eclectic 2017 outings H.A.L.F. (Have.A.Little.Fun) and Boycold, followed by TRAPART the next year. Early 2019 brought his first proper studio album, FL1P, which featured guest spots from Crush, Jessi, and the Quiett and reached number 28 on the Gaon chart. Later that September he teamed with fellow artist Coogie for the joint effort S.O.S. (Sink or Swim).
