An acclaimed Danish jazz vocalist, Sinne Eeg commands attention with her dusky, lyrical phrasing and deep command of the Great American Songbook tradition. Widespread praise greeted her arrival in the 2000s, when Danish Music Awards honored 2007’s Waiting for Dawn, 2010’s Don’t Be So Blue, and 2014’s Face the Music. Global touring has placed her alongside Peter Erskine, Roger Neumann, Joe LaBarbara, and additional collaborators, while regular work with pianist Jacob Christoffersen yielded the 2017 release Dreams.

Born in 1977 in the small Danish town of Lemvig, Eeg grew up surrounded by music; her father played double bass and her mother played clarinet. Jazz singing drew her early, and after high school she pursued formal training at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Esbjerg before private study in New York City with vocalist Janet Lawson. Upon graduating in 2003 she moved to Copenhagen and issued her debut album, Sinne Eeg.

Subsequent recordings included 2007’s Waiting for Dawn, 2010’s Don’t Be So Blue, and 2014’s Face the Music, each earning the Danish Music Award for Best Danish Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. Also in 2014 she received the Ben Webster Prize; the next year brought a fourth Danish Music Award for the duo project Eeg Fonnesbaek, recorded with bassist Thomas Fonnesbaek. Dreams appeared in 2017, followed by 2020’s We’ve Just Begun with the Danish Radio Big Band.
