Biography
The singer and multi-instrumentalist Rémi Letournelle performs under the alliterative stage name Slow Steve. Letournelle and Charley Vecten established the project as a duo back in 2012, though it was temporarily shelved when the Berlin-residing Frenchman gained traction writing songs and playing as a sideman alongside the German experimental pop group Fenster. In collaboration with Tadklimp, who had also worked with Fenster, Letournelle assembled the six-track EP Steps that Morr Music put out in 2015 to mark Slow Steve's first release. Drawing influence from 20th century science fiction in its visual and sonic forms, film scores among them, he incorporated vintage synthesizers into his synth-pop setup to create the band's inaugural album Adventures. Tadklimp joined him once more for the recording sessions held in Rotterdam and Berlin, leading to its release on Morr Music during May 2016.
