Biography
An accomplished player of numerous instruments ranging from piano, guitar, mandolin, tin whistle, and concertina to saxophone, Irish multi-instrumentalist Steve Wickham draws greatest acclaim for his fiddle and violin contributions, above all through his enduring role in the respected Irish folk-rock outfit the Waterboys. Born in Dublin, Wickham has supplied featured instrumental parts to recordings by Elvis Costello, Hothouse Flowers, Sinéad O'Connor, World Party, U2, Sharon Shannon, and Declan O'Rourke. His debut solo release, the instrumental Geronimo, appeared in 2004 and took its title from his violin.
