Biography
Originally formed as a Dallas-area duo consisting of Jay Gillian and Jimron Goff, the project underwent a key change when vocalist Will Loconto stepped in to replace Goff during 1989. The resulting lineup issued the cassette EP Hot on Top, which earned regional praise along with rotation on The Edge 94.5; one track from the release, a version of “Ecstasy,” also surfaced on the inaugural Tales From the Edge compilation. Oak Lawn Records subsequently issued a 12" single of “Don’t Let My Love (Push You Away),” whose performance drew the interest of Columbia Records and led to the band’s signing. Columbia dispatched the group to record with Information Society’s Paul Robb serving as producer, and the resulting album Intruder appeared in 1992. Loconto departed the following year to collaborate with Information Society, prompting Gillian to recruit additional musicians for live dates supporting both Information Society and Anything Box. After 1993 T42 receded from view, save for a pair of tracks placed on compilations and a limited number of Dallas-area performances thereafter. The act maintains no connection to the Luxembourg ensemble that shares its name.
