Biography
After leaving M83, Nicolas Fromageau launched Team Ghost and shaped its fusion of shoegaze and coldwave into the style labeled "cold gaze." Work began in 2009 alongside guitarist/vocalist Christophe Guérin and musician/graphic designer Jean-Phillipe Talaga. Sonic Cathedral released the debut EP You Never Did Anything Wrong to Me in 2010; later the same year Celebrate What You Can't See brought drummer Félix Delacroix, bassist Pierre Blanc, and vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Benoit de Villeneuve—who also produced that EP—into the group. The two EPs were packaged together for the 2011 Japanese collection We All Shine. A series of singles followed, among them 2012's "Dead Film Star" and 2013's "Curtains," both included on the eclectic first album Rituals. The self-titled second album appeared in 2016 as a darker-sounding set of songs inspired by Vangelis' Blade Runner score and Kanye West's Yeezus.
