Biography

Hailing from Mansfield, Texas, the emo rock outfit Terminal had operated earlier under the name Letter Twelve until securing a contract with Seattle-based Tooth & Nail in 2004. That rebranding left unchanged the quintet’s sincere mix of modern rock driven by emo textures and triumphant dynamics, a style further shaped by Christian themes. The group’s roster featured vocalist Travis Bryant, guitarists James Erwin and Matt Lucas, drummer Ryan Conley, and bassist Lucas Starr. Their first release on Tooth & Nail, How the Lonely Keep, arrived in June 2005 and was followed by an extended tour alongside labelmates Anberlin.
