Biography
Evan Schneider, a Sacramento native, selected the name Tha Fruitbat for his drum'n'bass project due to his vegetarian diet ("fruit") and nocturnal schedule ("bat"). Along with serving as bassist in an industrial band and operating as one half of the DJ duo Hysterisis Loop, Tha Fruitbat belongs to the Command Collective, an organization focused on expanding Sacramento's exposure to electronic music. LunaticWorks issued the self-titled debut from Tha Fruitbat near the close of 2003.
