Biography
Buffalo, New York's explosive rock trio the Bloody Hollies fused punk, garage rock, rockabilly, and surf into their own volatile yet irresistibly engaging style. In 2000 former art-school students Wesley Doyle on vocals and guitar, drummer Mike Argento, and bassist Nick formed the group to counter the prevailing dour tone of contemporary rock. By 2002 the band had accumulated local stage time, issued its first album Got It Where It Counts! through Garage Pop Records, and earned the distinction of Buffalo's "Top New Original Band" from a hometown publication. The Bloody Hollies next inked a contract with Sympathy for the Record Industry and delivered the follow-up Fire at Will during autumn 2003. Doyle then moved to San Diego, California, refreshed the roster with guitarist Joey Horgen and drummer Matt Bennett, and moved to Alive Records for the 2005 release If Footmen Tire You... and the 2007 album Who to Trust, Who to Kill, Who to Love, which blended glam-rock and hard-rock flourishes with the trio's characteristic high-energy garage sound. Bassist Erik Norgaard joined in time for the 2011 record Yours Until the Bitter End.
